Settlers of The Mountain Tops

Settlers of the Mountain Tops This project explores architecture through a progression from micro to macro scales. It began with the study of rocks from my personal collection, treated as objects of significance. Small structures were first built to house them. As the process evolved, the shelters grew, developing into larger systems that contained both the rocks and earlier structures. The rocks were 3D scanned and reinterpreted as furniture pieces, display objects, and modular cabinetry systems. These became functional anchors within the expanding framework. Located in Wadi Kub, the project uses native stone and massive boulders as structural elements. Walls rise from the ground, forming multi-story spaces that house smaller rocks, fabricated furniture, and daily activities. The architecture embraces material continuity, blurring distinctions between ground, object, and building. It questions the boundary between artifact and habitat, exploring how objects can generate space through accumulation, amplification, and adaptation. What began as a study of rocks ultimately redefines the scale of living.
